Softened Butter – ½ cup

White Sugar – 2 Cups

Eggs – 4

Vanilla Extract – 1 tsp

Flour (all purpose) – 5 cups

Baking Powder – 2 Tsps

Salt – 1 tsp

Preparation & Method

1.    Take a large bowl. Add butter & sugar and still together until you get smoothed cream.

2.    Add eggs in this cream and beat in together with vanilla extract. Stir this mixture along with flour, salt and baking powder.

3.     Now, cover & freeze this mixture for at least one hour.

4.     Preheat your oven by setting it to 400 degrees F. Level this dough on floured surface that should be ¼ to ½ inch thick.

5.     Take a cookie cutter and cut it into heart shapes. Place these heart shaped cookies 1 inch apart from each other on cookie sheets that must be ungreased.

6.     Cook these cookies in your preheated oven for about 6 to 8 minutes.

7.     Now, make it cool totally. You can decorate these cookies with your own ideas.

Tips to Make Cherry Filled Heart Cookies

Preparation Timing: 50 Minutes

Cooking Timing: 10 Minutes

Servings:  27


Softened butter – ½ cup

Sugar – 1 cup

Egg – 1

Milk – ½ cup

Vanilla Extract – 1 tsp

Flour – (All purpose) – 3-1/2 cups

Baking powder – 2 tsps

Baking soda – 1 tsp

Salt – ½ tsp


Sugar – ½ cup

Cornstrach – 4-1/2 tsps

Orange juice – ½ cup

Red Maraschino cherry juice – ¼ cup

Shredded, red maraschino cherries – ½

Butter –tbs

Preparation & Method

  1. Take a large bowl. Add butter and sugar and cream together. Now put in egg, milk and vanilla extract. Mix all the dry ingredients and then slowly put in to creamed mixture. Combine the mixture well and cover it. Now, freeze the mixture for at least 2 hours.
  2. In the meantime, prepare filling by combining sugar and cornstarch in a separate saucepan. Give addition of fruit juices, butter and cherries. Bring the mixture to a boil for 1 minute and let it to be cool.
  3. Level the dough on a floured surface that should be 1/8 inch thick. Now, cut it into heart shaped cookies into 2-1/2 inches with the help of a cookie cutter.
  4. Take half of the cookies and put them on greased baking sheets. Fill the center of each cookie by taking half of teaspoon of filling. Make sure that you are using 1-1/2 inch cookie cutter to cut small hearts shapes from the other half of the cookies.
  5. Cook these small hearts separately.
  6. Now, put the residual hearts over the top of filled cookies. Gently compress the edges together.
  7. If there is need of additional filling, fill the center and also spray sugar.
  8. Now cook filled cookies for about 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degree. After cooking, freeze the cookies on wire rack.
